Packed Weekend!

This weekend we had a baby shower for my sister Steph (from NYC) who is expecting Baby Johnson in November. They don't know what they are having yet, so we are all anxiously awaiting that surprise announcement! The shower was up at my Aunt Diana's house; she did such a beautiful job with everything. I was a co-host, but practically did nothing except buy some things for Steph. Thanks Aunt D for all you did!
This weekend was also my chance to meet my new Nephew, Dawson Coby, for the first time. Jenny and Adam live in Durango, so we were waiting for this weekend to meet him since they were coming to the shower! He is absolutely precious and such a peaceful baby! It was a joy to meet him and cuddle him as much as possible! I soaked it up! It was fun to see Jenny and Adam with their new son...they are naturals!
Unfortunately Gabe wasn't with Avery and I for most of the weekend. He had a game on Friday night and went to a Men's retreat near Winter Park on Saturday Night. Thankfully he was able to meet up with us on Sunday for a family lunch at PF Changs.
Avery and I had planned on staying at my Dad's house on Friday and Saturday night. BUT...we had a rough night Friday. She only slept 5 hours ( she usually sleeps 12), so she wasn't the happiest camper all day Saturday at the shower. By the end of that day...I was exhausted myself, so I decided we needed to drive home to get a good nights rest before another full day in Denver. It was worth it to drive back because we both slept like champs that night and we both needed it!
Overall...it was a wonderful weekend seeing family. We probably won't all be together for awhile now ( my bro and his family couldn't make it). So every opportunity we get to be together is a blessing! Aside from not sleeping, Avery did have a blast at Grandma and Grandpa's house! And she got to see her Yaya too!

I will post shower photos in a separate post!

Full of Sports...

This weekend has been full of sports for us...but we love it! We went to Gabe's football game against Pine Creek (the school he coached at for 4 years until switching to Rampart), but unfortunately that didn't go so well. Gabe might not fully believe it after that game, but he is an amazing coach! He really is meant to be one...so proud! He is so determined to continue to work hard and persevere! Sports are so wonderful, but can be so hard as well. Anyone with a competitive side knows that!!

Yesterday, we went to the Rockies game with Gabe's parents. They were so nice to treat us to dinner and the game! Thank you guys, we had a blast! We were so happy we could go, because earlier we took Avery to Urgent Care. We thought she had an ear infection because she cried most the morning, sneezing and throwing herself everywhere saying "ouweee" I thought for sure she had an ear infection after going to Gabe's game on Friday ( it was colder than expected). Turns out she didn't and she perked up right when we saw the Dr. So we decided she was good to go and she did GREAT at the game! She's a true Rockies fan! She didn't want to miss the game either! The Rockies won, so their winning streak continues! Avery got to meet Dinger at the end of the game. It was fun to grab a picture with him, but she was scared out of her mind!

Thanks for such a fun night at the game! We love you Muttie and Pop Pop!

Here she is gripping onto me..."Momma, get me away from whatever this guy is!"

Checking Dinger out...not so sure!
I'm laughing because we had to convince him to let us take a picture, he was heading in.

Yay Rox!

New Friends

Avery and Jane are becoming fast, sweet new friends! We took Jane and Dani to Cottonwood Creek Park for their first time today! The girls had so much fun playing. They pretty much did their own thing...but we all still had fun! We went to their house for lunch afterward where Avery had a melt down! She was exhausted from all the playing! Thanks for a fun play date girls!

Little break for a snack!

30-0

Rampart won their first game on Friday! They defeated Gateway 30-0! What a great start to the season! I'm so proud of our coach and all of his hard work so far this year (football season really starts in May, not August)! But Gabe and the team have worked so hard, so they deserved a WIN! We are so proud!

Avery and I carpooled up to Aurora with Jess and Diane (2 other coaches wives). We had a car full of girlies, so much fun!
After the game, we went out for pizza with the coaches, players and families! Avery was up until 11pm...but was happy to celebrate the win! She is a party girl!

We like when Gabe is happy after his games!!

Yay...Gabe's defense played awesome!

Go Rams!
