We had a great 4th of July weekend! The only downside was the fact that I was dealing with shingles, which I'm still trying to fight off. But aside from the pain and itching...we had a great time seeing family and hanging out as a family of three! Last Thursday, Avery's Auntie Jayne and cousins came down to visit for the day. We hadn't seen them since February since they have been in CA, so it was great to hang out with them! On Friday, we went out to KS and NE to attend Gabe's grandparents family reunion and 60th wedding anniversary celebration. The theme of the event was "Survivor". While Gabe went boating with his Dad and Uncle, Avery and I helped set up for the party. Gabe had the opportunity to lead them through renewing of their vows, which was powerful after 60 years of marriage! We came back home on the 4th and spent the rest of the holiday as a family. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, went out to eat at Qdoba, and Gabe and I watched the Air Force and Flying Horse firework shows from our back deck! It was awesome...we had the best seat in the house!
A big thanks to all those who serve our country for our freedom!! I am so thankful for you.
