Surgery Day

Today is the day.

We head into the hospital at 7:30am for her 9am surgery.

Date and Hair

Gabe and Avery went on a Daddy/Daughter date this week while I worked on Tuesday night. They went to the mall where Avery loves to run around and ate Subway together in the food court. It was a much needed date for them. Avery had been missing her Daddy because last weekend was really busy with work for Gabe. I got her all dressed up for her date! She was so cute waiting for Daddy at the bottom of the stairs!

This week I attempted to highlight my hair on my own for the first time. The kit came with a cap, but that scared me. So I went ahead and used foils. Here is the scetchiest foil job you have ever seen! Yikes! I had no clue what I was doing, but I was trying to save us money!

It came out slightly orange, but I can live with it until after Christmas. I actually thought it was going to come out a lot worse! After trying...Gabe said, "just go get it done, honey"! Ha! So, sometime after Christmas I will make an appt to get it professionally done. Hey, atleast I tried!

The orange paint in our bathroom doesn't make it look any better. I look really ORANGE in this photo! :)

And just for fun...here is my almost 17 weeks photo! I'm definitely growing a lot faster this pregnancy!

Hotel Boulderado

Yesterday we continued the Christmas tradition of going to the Boulderado for tea. My Mom started this fun girls tradition a couple of years ago. Now its just the two of us since Jenny moved to Durango. It will be fun once Avery is big enough to go with us! But for now, I enjoyed the time with my mom. It was such a relaxing and much needed afternoon at tea! The Boulderado is such a beautiful and cozy hotel!

Avery spent the afternoon with Grandma and Grandpa! She had a blast! I wish I had some photos to show you how happy she was when I picked her up. She played all day with no nap and was still such a happy girl!

Not sure if you can tell...but I definitely have a baby bump now!

Whoa...what a whirlwind!

The past month has been absolutely crazy! After we took our trip to Breckenridge, I got news that Dixie (the yellow lab we got when I was 15) had to be put down. We took a weekend trip to Kansas to spend time with the Jenkins side of the family. We moved. I made it out of the first trimester! I decorated the house for Christmas. Gabe started wrestling season. Avery unfortunately had her first ride in an ambulance. Wow...I'm tired! It has seriously been a whirlwind! But, we made it! Thankfully, today my mom came down! It was such a fun and refreshing day, which Avery and I both needed. Gabe had a wrestling tournament all day.

Dixie lived a good long life of 12 years, but I'm sure going to miss our D Dog!!

We are enjoying getting settled in our new home and I will definitely post photos soon. I haven't gotten around to taking any yet!

Avery and I are recovered from the traumatic ambulance experience. She suffered a febrile seizure which is caused by an extremely high fever. It was the scariest moment yet for me as a mom, I'm just thankful God gave me wisdom in the decisions I had to make....quick decisions!! For all you moms out there...if your child ever has a high fever, I learned that motrin brings down fevers much faster than tylenol. I wish I would have known that, but now I do! I'm just thankful our baby girl is ok! Yes, I still think she's a baby, even though she is obviously turning too quickly into a little girl!

Yes...you read that correctly! I am officially out of the first trimester! We are excited to be expecting Baby J #2 at the end of May!!

Breckenridge, CO

A huge thanks to the Drott's, they blessed us with a few days stay up in Breckenridge this week. We stayed at the Hyatt right on Main Street, it was a very nice hotel and room! This mini vacation was perfect timing since Gabe just finished his football season and starts his wrestling season next week. We definitely needed some time away as a family! It was wonderful to create some new family memories. We took Avery sledding, Avery and Daddy had a blast in the outdoor hot tub ( it was only 30 degrees outside), we ate some great food, played in the snow and just hung out in front of the fire in our hotel room with yummy Starbucks drinks!

Little Pumpkin!

For Halloween, we took Avery trick-or-treating for the first time. She really got a hang of it and had fun! She was the cutest little pumpkin we have ever seen! She started saying trick-or-treat which was very cute! She stopped mid way to check out what kind of candy she had in her pumpkin. Gabe had to work all night since New Life had a family movie night, but he was able to sneak away for a short time so we could take her to a few houses.
We also took her to the church to eat dinner and play in the jump houses. They had a toddler room, so they were the perfect size for her. She had a blast jumping around! She watched about ten minutes of Monsters Inc. too, but she was tired from all the jumping!
On a side note, Avery took quite the spill in the morning ( or was throwing a fit) and cut right outside of her eye on our bed frame...you might be able to see her boo boo! That was her first time to bleed from an injury! Poor girl. Thankfully its healing up pretty quickly!
