The Training Begins...

Today is the beginning of a new training season for me! I'm very excited because I did my first spinning class today since Avery was born! I haven't even been on my road bike since I found out we were expecting Avery! That is a LONG time! Actually the day we found out I was pregnant, I had just finished a 2 day 150 mile ride ( MS150), I wrote about it HERE! I had no idea I was pregnant during that ride and thankfully I felt great! I was actually 4 weeks pregnant, so Avery had quite the ride in my belly!

I absolutely love to road bike, but I took a sabbatical once Avery was born. Although I was more than happy to take the time last summer to be at home with Avery, I am also very excited to get back into riding!

So far, I plan to do 2 rides, Elephant Rock and the Copper Triangle this summer (along with all the additional riding I plan to do)
A couple of weeks ago, I finally started getting up EARLY to get to the gym before Avery wakes up for the day. By EARLY, I mean 4:30 am. I'm usually walking in the gym doors by 4:55! I have had to push myself out of bed some days, but overall it has been so good for me as a momma! I feel so refreshed and ready for the day after working out! I keep telling Gabe it makes me a better Momma! So, now I plan to add in 2 days of spinning! After spinning today, I was filled with excitement, so I just wanted to tell you... I'm officially back on the bike!! And that makes me an even happier Momma!

Morning Cuddles

G got to spend some time with Avery and I this morning since he has to work late tonight. One of our favorite things to do in the morning is to cuddle while we watch Avery's praise/worship video. So today, G got to cuddle with Avery during the video! So cute!

Our weekend!

G's wrestling team had a two day tournament here in the Springs this weekend. Avery and I weren't able to go on Friday, but we made it there on Saturday for a couple of hours. Avery can only handle a little bit in a hot gym where she can't crawl around everywhere because its so dirty. But she did very well and always gets super excited to see Daddy! We spent the rest of our weekend running errands and just hanging out. Avery is getting very close to walking on her own. She spent a good amount of time pushing her diaper box around the kitchen and family room. That was until she started to eat it! You can tell from the video that she is very proud of herself. She is certainly telling me something! I love her!

This is such a weird picture, but the best one I could get of G coaching. Our camera doesn't take a best pictures lately(especially in gyms), but that's G and the head coach, Casey in coaching action. They had a couple of wrestlers make it to the finals, which was really good!

First haircut and Blessings!

Some sweet friends of ours, the Verhey's, gave Avery this awesome doll house yesterday! Their girls had outgrown it, so they wanted to bless us with it! They even gave Avery some dolly's to go with it, so sweet! I think she is going to spend a lot of time playing with it as she grows up! What a precious gift.

Avery's hair has really started to grow! She was starting to sport a little bit of a mullet, SO....she got her first haircut from her momma! Here are some photos of the process! I think her new due turned out so cute!

David Kyle Shaw was born January 15th, 2010!
Yes...we are so excited to announce that we have a new nephew! My brother and sister in law welcomed their first little boy, Kyle, into the world!
I am such a proud Auntie and can't wait to meet little Kyle!
Isn't he handsome??

And yes...all in one weekend we welcomed Scott home and a new nephew! What a weekend full of joy!!

Welcome Home Scott!

My brother in law, Scott, came home from Iraq yesterday!! What a powerful celebration to watch his family reunite! We wouldn't have missed it for the world, it was so exciting to welcome Scott home after being deployed for a year. We are so grateful for his service, but we are also very grateful to have him home safely! That is an experience I will never forget! Watching his wife, 3 girlies and son welcome him back. Wow...very powerful! Their family sacrificed a lot in the last year and it brought so much joy to see them all together again!

We love you Scott, we are so happy you are home! Thank you for your service and faithfulness to our country! We look forward to hearing more about your experience during your deployment!

Powerful reunion...the 3 girls were like little jumping beans. Jumping in unison!

He flew into the Cheyenne, WY airport. So, because the airport was so small, we were able to watch Scott's plane pull up. It was so exciting to see him coming out of the plane!

Laughing so hard it hurts!

Gabe's wrestling team had a dual tonight, but Avery and I stayed home for this one. We spent some time looking out the front window for Daddy! I really believe she was looking for Dada! Bless her heart, she misses her Daddy!

We spent the rest of the night LAUGHING! She was laughing at her silly momma!

She still just has the 4 teeth ( 2 on top and 2 on bottom). You can see her bottom teeth in this smile!

Looking for Dada!

still looking...

Bummer...no Dada yet...
