Gimme Five!

Sophie's personality is really starting to surface...I love it!

She is so proud of her high five!

5 Years!

Gabe and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on Friday! The 5 years went by pretty quickly and obviously a lot has happened in our lives. While we were out on a date, we were talking over the 5 years and agreed we have both grown up a lot! Of course we have had our challenges, just like every marriage, but I feel incredibly blessed to be married to such a wonderful man! The Lord exceeded all of my prayers, desires and expectations I had for my husband. Thank you Lord!  He knew exactly what I needed and desired and gave me that and SO much more!

Thanks to my friend Lex who stayed with our girls, we were able to go out for a nice anniversary date.  We ate at the Sunbird Restaurant which is on a cliff overlooking Colorado Springs, such a beautiful view! We have said many times that we would like to go there, so this was the perfect occasion for a fancy dinner. Keep in mind, we often go to Chipotle for our dates, so this was a big step up! We were very happy with the Sunbird; their food and service was wonderful! After eating we took our coffee out onto the patio where they had fire pits and watched the sun begin to set.

So thankful for our first 5 years and excited to see what the future holds for us as a couple! I love you Gabe!

Obviously not a great photo, but you can see the awesome view from our table...

I love this man, can you tell?

Exciting week...

We had such an exciting and fun week! I have many blog posts to share, but before I get to them I want to show you what we've been up to. It's really starting to feel like summer which makes us so happy! We spend a lot of time outside these days!

The girls helped me pot flowers for our front porch!
Sophie observed while we potted the flowers...

The girls are really starting to play together, it's so fun to watch!

Doing the "happy dance" because the Thunderbirds were practicing and literally flying right over our house! It was Air Force graduation week, one of our favorite weeks of the year!

Aunt Diana and Uncle Don gave Sophie this awesome water table for her birthday! Both of the girls love it! We're going to have so much fun with it this summer!

Sophie was soaking herself!

Watching the Thunderbirds practice...again!  We love them! The church always has a picnic to watch the actual show on graduation day, so we also saw the real show!

I thank the Lord everyday I get to stay home with these girls! I'm thankful for my hard working husband who makes it possible for me to stay home! Thank you Gabe!

Olympic Training Center

We took the girls to the Olympic Training Center last weekend. Since we're gearing up for the Summer Olympics, we thought it would be a fun activity and we haven't been down there in a couple of years. We forgot that you can't go in many of the buildings if you don't go on the actual tour. We knew the girls wouldn't last through the tour, so we just walked around and Gabe was able to take Avery in to see where the gymnasts practice. They also saw some swimming, but other than that we only saw a few athletes walking around. We can check that off our mental list of things we want to do this summer as a family!

This first photo of the four of us was taken with my self timer, the camera set on our stroller and me sprinting to get in the photo!  Pretty funny!

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday since Sunday is always so busy with church and this week we went up to Denver for my step sisters college graduation party. Quick shout out...Congrats Ash, my fellow CSU grad! I love you girl and great work!

Gabe was so sweet to plan out Saturday for me. He had Avery ask me out on a date to lunch. We went to Chick-fil-A together, she paid! After we had a great time eating lunch and playing, I took her to the "treasure store" (Goodwill) so she could pick out her very own treasure. She ended up getting two, a cute necklace and a new book for under $3! She was so excited about her treasure finds! I unfortunately didn't find any treasures, but I hope Avery will let me borrow her necklace one of these days.I really enjoyed this one on one time with Avery, we don't get much of it anymore! Her love language is definitely "quality time", so I love knowing her love cup was filled!
Before our date!

She loves chicken nuggets!

Reading her new book, "Lion King" on the way home.

After my date with Avery, Gabe had Sophie give me money to go buy a new shirt! The plan was to take her with me, but shopping alone is always more enjoyable and realistic. Someday Sophie will love going shopping with me, I hope! Almost two hours alone is always a treat and very rare! Thank you sweet Gabe and Sophie for treating me to this time!

Later that evening we went out to eat together. We didn't mix it up very much, we went to our favorite, Chipotle. It was such a joy to be out as a family and I truly am overwhelmed by how blessed I am!  I'm so thankful to be a wife and Momma! Thank you all for such a special Mother's Day! I love you sooooo much!

Here are some photos from Mother's Day...

 Love my girlies!

Beauty

The beauty displayed at Garden of the Gods never gets old! This past weekend the weather here in the Springs was gorgeous, so of course we went to Garden of the Gods for a family walk. Like always, we loved it.

I sure love my family!

Avery loves her "Baby Coby"
