Mexico Trip!

We are back! It has taken me a few days to get back to blogging, mainly because I've been trying to make a slight dent in our huge mountain of laundry! Thankfully I'm getting somewhere.

We had a great and interesting trip to Mexico. It was wonderful to spend time with one another and not have any responsibilities, but it also came with some challenges that we had to push through. I think we might have done enough complaining while we were there, so that's not what I'm here to do. We were actually trying to learn how to REJOICE in every circumstance, especially when God humbled me by reminding me there are such greater "worries" in this world. With that said, we had to get over me losing my camera on the first day (I had a major breakdown), the weather being pretty terrible, and coming home to a flat tire. Aside from the challenges, I believe we made the most of our vacation and we did really enjoy ourselves! Our last day there was our first day with sunshine and we were SO thankful for it! We spent the entire day outside and came home like lobsters! We were just happy to get some SUN! I was so happy to relax in the sun! By now, our redness has turned to a tan!

Although we had to take cover for a lot of our vacation, we spent every minute that we could outside. We had fun taking adventures, like walking to the other Riu resort. On the way there we got drenched, but it was a fun memory! We definitely weren't going to sit in our hotel all day! On a different day we took the bus to the opposite end of Cancun. Gabe really wanted to snorkle, but the water was too rough. So we walked probably around 4 miles along the coast, which was beautiful! So aside from a few complaints from both of us here and there, we still had a blast together!

Avery had a fun vacation of her own ( stay tuned for those pictures). She stayed with Gabe's parents, Muttie and Pop Pop, in Kansas. We definitely missed her more than she missed us! By our last day, we were very ready to see our girl!

We are so happy we took the time to invest into our marriage and friendship! What a blessing to get away together. A HUGE thanks to Muttie and Pop Pop who kept Avery for the week! She had an absolute blast! I'm sure she was disappointed her vacation was over.

Get ready for photo overload! Thankfully Gabe has a Droid, so we were still able to get some pictures without having my camera! HUGE blessing!

My 27th birthday was wonderful! Our waiter brought over this whole cake during breakfast while they sang to me and threw confetti all over me!

Beautiful rainbow after an entire day of rain!

Less than ideal circumstances really do give you the chance to invest in your marriage and grow. I'm glad you two had a getaway...and that the sun finally came out on your last day!
