Blueberries

Today is a new day for the "Blueberries". Gabe calls us "Blueberries" because of our blue eyes! As of today, I am now working part time (about 16 hours/week) at New Life Church. I am pretty excited about this job. It couldn't be more perfect for the season of life we are in. I am so thankful for the 6 months that I got to stay home full time with Avery, but I had been praying for something to do part time and thankfully the Lord provided in such an amazing way! I desire to be home for the majority of the time, which is why 16 hours is perfect! While I'm working, Avery will be downstairs in the childcare so I will be able to go nurse her and be there for her is she needs me! It's a perfect set-up! I can check on her and see her whenever I want! I will be working in the resource center for the Children's department. My responsibility will be to primarily serve Gabe by preparing whatever he needs for his Sunday morning services. Even more perfect, I get to work with my husband! So that means I will get to see him more often! I will also cross over into the other grade levels and nursery/preschool whenever they need my help. Overall, I'm very excited and thankful for this opportunity. After Avery and I adjust and figure out a schedule, I think it will be very healthy for the both of us! She did great her first day and I pray it just gets easier and easier once we get our schedule set!

Friends!

Avery and I got together with our good friends Becky and Ashlyne the other night for coffee! It was so much fun to see our girls together! We hung out one other time when Ashlyne was just born, but this time they were really into each other! Ashlyne is about 3 1/2 months and Avery just turned 6 months. We plan to get them together more often, it was so cute to watch them! I think Avery was more than ready to run around together!

Avery had her eyes on Becky while Ashlyne's eyes were glued on me. They had to check out the other momma!

Ashlyne is so pretty!

It's official...the season has begun!

Even though the football "season" for coaches really starts back in June, we have now officially started the season! We had our first football game of the season on Friday against Ponderosa. Unfortunately the final score was not in our favor, 20 to 14, but I am so proud of the team for the way they fought! Gabe's defense played so well! It was such a joy to me to watch Gabe do what he loves most, COACH! The past 4 years he has been a JV defensive coordinator as well as a Varsity assistant coach for Pine Creek. This is his first year being a Varsity defensive coordinator for a 5A team, Rampart! He has already worked so hard and has put in many long hours studying football strategy. I have a new name for him, "Mr. X & O". This new position comes along with a much greater responsibility, commitment and sacrifice for all of us, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Watching Gabe down on that field on Friday did something in my heart! I am so thankful to be his wife and fan! I am thankful he gets the opportunity to do what he loves most! He is so good at it and I can't wait to see how God will continue to use this gift He has given to Gabe!

And by the way, the game of football has really grown on me in the past few years! I now get a little nervous during the game! There is something special and intense about cheering on my husband's team....I absolutely love it!

This picture is blurry, but that is Gabe out there huddled up with his defense!

Proud wives!
