Weekend!

What a great weekend and another busy week ahead of us! Friday night we had Dani, Nathan and Jane Swisher over to BBQ. They just moved here from CA because Nathan is doing an internship for his doctorate here in the Springs. We have been looking forward to them moving here for awhile because Avery and Jane are only a few months apart. I have known Dani and Nathan since middleschool/junior high, but haven't seen either of them since highschool. So it has been fun to reconnect with them! We have gotten Avery and Jane together twice now, they are learning how to play together and most of all SHARE their toys with one another. This can be such a tough stage! They were so sweet to give Avery a new baby doll, she absolutely loves it! Thanks guys!

Saturday was busy! I went for an early ride in black forest with Laura. She recently got a bike, so it was our first time riding together! It was a blast and a beautiful morning to ride! We had to go early because Gabe had football practice so we managed to ride 25 miles before getting myself home by 8:15. I took Avery to Cottonwood park for awhile to play and walk and then we went to visit Jarred and Heather at their garage sale. Then...we met Gabe after his practice for their ice cream social. Avery was exhausted after all this, so we went home for a good nap! The rest of the day was spent hanging out at a family. We decided to head to Garden of the Gods to hang out and of course we picked up Sonic drinks on the way! Can't go wrong with Sonic and Garden of the Gods!!
We drove around Old Colorado City for awhile after walking around Garden of the Gods. It was a great way for Gabe and I to spend some time together. Avery was very content playing with her new baby in her carseat! She is such a little Momma!

Busy Bee

Avery is busy bee these days and way too busy to actually look and smile at the camera! I attempted to get some photos of her the other night; it was absolutely beautiful out. The lighting was perfect, Pikes Peak was gorgeous, but she had much better things to do than smile for her crazy momma behind the camera! I wish you could have heard the noises coming out of my mouth! Obviously her rocks were more important!

I just love this girl!
She is excited to have her new friend Jane over tonight to play! Hopefully we'll get some cute photos of them!

Copper Triangle

Well...we did it! My mom and I did the Copper Triangle over the weekend! The ride included 80 miles and 3 mountain passes! By far, it was the hardest ride I have ever done, but I really did enjoy it! :) Yes, Vail pass was long and hard...but I would do it all over again! My mom and I rode at our own paces, but we eventually met up so we could finish together!
My mom was so nice to get us a hotel room in Copper Mtn. for the night before. It was fun to spend some time with her. We walked around Copper Village, found a great place to eat pasta, and just relaxed before waking up at 3am for the ride! We had our alarm set for 4:15, but neither of us could sleep, so we just got up to drink tea and stretch before the ride! Thanks mom for a wonderful weekend! We did it!

Check out the course and all the photos I took along the way!

Love my FAMILY!

On Wednesday, Gabe took the afternoon off (since he has to work on Sat.) so we went to Garden of the Gods for some sweet family time! It is always fun to add to the list of wonderful memories there! It's one of our favorite places here in the Springs and I'm so thankful we live in such a beautiful place! We went on a short, easy hike (jaunt). It was thundering, sprinkled on us, but we did beat the rain! Avery kept saying "boom" since we call thunder "boomers".
I'm so thankful for Gabe's week off from football! Its been great seeing him this week! And I know Avery loves spending time with her Daddy!

Always collecting rocks!
