Getting so strong!

After all that hard work, she just relaxed! She was tired!

She's holding her head up!

Avery is getting so strong! She has been working on strengthening her neck muscles during her tummy time!! She is also so close to rolling over. She has done it once or twice, but she hasn't quite figured out how to rollover every time. She is sure trying to though!

That's our girl!

Avery is a STAR! The amazing photographer, Jamie Smith, who photographed our little Avery, got the opportunity to display some of her work at a baby boutique in Aurora called Snuggle Bugs. Look at our little cutie! The two pictures displayed on the top are of our Avery! You should check out more of Jamie's work at her website. It is www.jamiesmithphotography.com. I would highly recommend her to anyone, she is GREAT at what she does!

6 Weeks Old Already!

Avery got this hat as a gift a couple of weeks ago, I just had to try it on her! And, of course...I had to take a picture!

Avery is already 6 weeks old! In the first few weeks of shock, we had many people tell us that once we hit the 6 week mark, we will feel like new people! They were right! Sleep is the key word! She is now allowing us anywhere from 4 to 6 straight hours of sleep a night, which is a huge blessing! She is getting used to a schedule of eating at 10pm, going down for bed, and then usually sleeping until around 4am! I am so thankful! In the first few weeks, I found it really hard to be up around the 1am and 2am hours. I don't function well at that time. So I am very thankful that most nights, she makes it past those times!
Also, Avery is now fitting into some of her 0-3 month clothes! She is getting really tall, which is why some of those newborn outfits don't fit! We aren't sure where she is getting that height from! Hopefully she is also putting on weight...I think she is, look at those cheeks!
I'm sure she is sick of mommy taking pictures of her! I just love it though!

My 26th Birthday!

She is now ready to hang out with Daddy while I go get my hair done

All clean!

She was so relaxed!

Look at that belly!

I had such a wonderful 26th birthday! The day started out with my hubby waking me up to breakfast in bed (cinnamon rolls) while he sang to me "Happy Birthday"! I got to blow out a candle while I said a prayer! Gabe totally surprised me by decorating our house with streamers and balloons! That was so cute and thoughtful!
I spent the remainder of the morning trying to get ready for a busy day. I have learned that my getting ready process happens in stages. I took my shower while Avery slept in the swing. She got antsy after being in her swing for awhile, so I tried putting her in her bouncer while I continued to get ready. Well...that worked for a bit, but she really just wanted to be held. So we had some cuddle time! I was happy with that, she is such a sweet cuddler.
I have also learned that as a mom it should be considered an art to get both of us ready, get her fed, and also get to the place we need to be, ON TIME! But we managed to pull it off! We went to Becky's baby shower over lunch at Famous Dave's. After our first baby shower experience (Avery was a bit fussy), I was a little nervous about taking her to another one. But she did great! She slept on and off throughout the entire lunch and gave me the opportunity to hang out with women from work and enjoy the celebration of Becky's baby girl, due in May.
After lunch, we hung out at home for a couple of hours and Avery blessed me with a lovely present...a blow out! Now, Gabe and I actually get very excited when she has blowouts! So as crazy as it sounds, I was actually very happy that she had one. This one required a bath though, so I bathed her for the first time on my own! She loved it, she was chillin as if she were in a hot tub. It brought such joy to my heart to see her enjoy her bath so much! It's amazing how my life has changed...I get so happy and excited about Avery's blowouts. I'm definitely a mom now, and it confirms the fact that she's a healthy baby! I posted pictures ( sparing you of the one I took of the actual blow out) of the process. Look at her huge belly in the bath photos!
Daddy came home just after her blowout and bath time. He watched Avery while I went to get my hair done. It was way overdue, so it was so nice to do that on my birthday! I went to a new stylist, which always creates some nervousness, but I was so happy with how she did! I think it was the first time that I didn't have to hurry home and re-style my hair. I usually leave the salon feeling like a lion!
My 26th was capped off with delicious sushi (Ai Sushi) and a vanilla ice cream cone from McDonald's. It was such a wonderful day! I'm so thankful for my family who made it special for me! And thank you to all the friends and family who called and emailed me, I love you all!
I have now entered into the 2nd half of my twenties...that's a little scary, but I couldn't be more happy and thankful with where I am in life! I have the most amazing husband and a beautiful daughter! The Lord has blessed me!!

Daddy's Girl!

Little Avery just loves her Daddy! Take a look at some of their sweetest photos together! I think she has succeeded at getting her Daddy wrapped around her little finger! Do you think so? What a sweet Daddy's girl!

Avery's Dedication

Avery wore her Momma's booties...I wore them for my dedication!

We had Avery dedicated last Sunday. It was so special to have all of Avery's grandparents there; that meant a lot to us as her parents. Also, Ash B., Maddie and their cousin Josh were able to join us as well. Thanks to everyone for coming. We were thankful to have you there as we dedicated our little Avery to the Lord. It was a joy to give Avery back to the Lord. She is in His strong hands and we are trusting fully in Him for his protection and His will to come to pass for Avery's life! And...Avery did so well! She ate right before going to service and then she slept all the way through worship, her dedication, and Pastor Brady's message! She was so peaceful! We are very proud parents!

"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".

SUSHI

We went to sushi the other night with the Zachman's to celebrate John's birthday! I haven't had sushi since I became pregnant, it had been too long! It was so good and I am excited because Gabe actually liked it this time! You know what that means...more sushi dates! I can't wait!
