Sabbatical: Washington Park

After moving to Colorado Springs 6.5 years ago, the thing I miss most about Denver is living right up the street from one of the greatest parks, Washington Park! If you haven't been there, gone running, biking, roller-blading or paddle boating there, add it to your list. It's not only a beautiful park, but so active which is what I love about it!

We took the girls there to have a picnic...

Off to play they go...

 Now that's a fast slide!

Oh, just trying to get a sister photo!
They were too hot and ready for frozen yogurt at this point...

It was hot, but it was a lovely visit to Wash Park!

Sabbatical: Pool Time

We've spent a good amount of time at the pool during sabbatical and the girls are becoming quite the little fish! Avery especially has really started to SWIM! We couldn't be more proud of how comfortable both of the girls have gotten with the water over the summer. We're sad the outdoor pool closes on Labor Day.

Nothing like a little sister love in the pool!

Sabbatical: Haircuts!

We have SO enjoyed every minute of sabbatical thus far. I want to savor every minute we have together as a family! It's been a true blessing and the timing couldn't have been more perfect as we wait for little guy's arrival!

Usually I trim or cut our girls hair, but we decided it was time for a professional cut. This was Sophie's first "real" haircut. They were both so serious as they sat in their chairs, but both did great!

Sophie needed a little extra "Momma comfort" which is why I'm holding her hand...

We took the girls to Fox Run Park after doing so well...

 They love to rock climb!

39 Weeks!

By the time I'm getting this post up, I'm actually closer to 40 weeks!
Little guy must be cozy in there...I don't think he's going to make an early arrival like I originally thought (or maybe just hoped for)!

My due date is only 2 days away, so we'll see when he decides to make his arrival!
I'll be sure to keep you updated!

The Jenkins come to visit...

Gabe's brother and his family came to stay with us for a couple of nights before heading up to the mountains for Scott to do the Leadville 100. It's always a joy to watch the cousin play together, especially because they only get to see each other once a year. They always pick up right where they left off!

Aunt Jayne was teaching them Chinese jump rope...

lining up for the three legged race!

Gabe and Billy were Scott's pacers for the Leadville 100.
You can read the full story over at Gabe's blog...Such an amazing story!

We got to see the cousins again after they spent a few days in the mountains for the Leadville race.
Love those sweet faces!
Sophie, Avery, Amy, Lydia, Ava, Brody and Claire

We look forward to the day when we can simply call them up and meet them at the park spontaneously. They hope to end up in Colorado in the next couple of years. It would be wonderful to watch these cousins grow up together! We love you guys!

Sabbatical: Broncos Training Camp

After spending the morning at the training camp, we took the girls to the Centennial splash park. Gabe and I were a little under impressed, but the girls didn't think twice about having a blast and running through the water!
