Sunshine and haircuts

It's been so nice to have some warmer weather the last few days. We don't do well being cooped up in the house, so it has been great to get outside!

We're so thankful Daddy can meet us at the park in the middle of the day!

I gave both of the girls haircuts today. I chopped Avery's into a cute bob and trimmed Sophie's.  They were both excited to visit the "Mommy hair salon"!

Gabe's Birthday!

It was Gabe's Birthday last week!
We celebrated with a birthday breakfast including eggs and cinnamon rolls. Gabe led an early morning prayer meeting at church, so I woke him up nice and early at 4:45 with a candle to blow out! He was delighted! :)
Gabe and I got to go out on a date! Our sweet friends gifted us with gift cards AND babysitting. Such a blessing!
Happy Birthday Gabe! We love you more than you will ever know!
Thanks for being such an amazing bestie, husband and daddy!

Making cards for Daddy!

Just a normal attempt at trying to get a photo of us!

Kansas Christmas

Once again, I made a video of our Christmas festivities in Kansas as part of our "memory" for Gabe's side of the family. We had a wonderful time and the cousins played their hearts out together!

We love all of you so much!
Thanks for many more unforgettable memories this Christmas!

Denver Christmas

We went up to my Dad's house in Denver on Christmas afternoon to celebrate Christmas with them.  The girls were thrilled they had more presents to open! We enjoyed spending time up there; playing with new presents, ping pong madness, and dancing! Gabe will be happy for me to tell you that he beat me in ping pong multiple times. My step sister Ashley got Just Dance 4 for Christmas, so we all joined in the fun!

My Dad and Eileen were sweet to stay with the girls while they slept on Christmas night so Gabe and I could go see a movie. I was so tired and wasn't too interested in seeing a movie, but Gabe really wanted to see Lincoln, so I agreed! Well, I slept through most the movie! Gabe really liked it, but for me, it was a very uncomfortable, expensive, and long nap! :)  I know, I'm pathetic. I really have a hard time staying up late these days!

Thanks for a wonderful Christmas, Dad and Eileen! We love you guys! It was great to see all of you!

Our future little tennis star showing off her new dollhouse and tennis racquet!

Our other little star napping before heading to Grandma and Grandpa's!

 Just Dance 4!

 Sweet love for Aunt Madi!

Avery loves playing with Aunt Ash!

It took about two minutes for them to pass out in the car. Can you tell they had fun at Grandma and Grandpa's?
We were on our way to Kansas for another Christmas...

Christmas Morning

We decided a few years back that it's very important to us to spend Christmas morning at our home. So, once again, we had a wonderful and peaceful Christmas morning! I think I was more excited about the girls opening their presents because I barely slept at all the night before. I got up early, made pancakes and egg,s and waited for everyone else to wake up. Thankfully, the girls woke up around 6am so I didn't have to wait any longer! :)  I have always been a morning person, especially on Christmas morning!

Such a perfect Christmas morning with our little family!

The remote controlled cars we got them were the "hit" of the morning! They played with them non-stop for over an hour after opening them!

They eventually learned how to drive them in different directions...:)

Christmas Eve

We went to a beautiful Christmas Eve service just the four of us. Gabe worked the next two services while the girls and I had a quiet night at home. After they went to bed, I got busy filling stockings and getting their "Jesus" gifts ready. We don't leave Santa out, but in our house, he is simply the deliverer of Jesus' gifts.

Our big gift to the girls was their "remodeled" dollhouse. Some friends of ours gave us this dollhouse bookcase a few years back and until now we've just used it in Avery's closet. I got the idea off Pinterest to add wallpaper, etc. There are still some final touches I want to add, but I enjoyed doing this for the girls.
